The Alliance Public Library Concert Series will feature John Breen and Friends on Thursday, June 30 at 6:30 p.m. in the library rose garden. Bring your lawn chairs and enter the garden on the east side of the library. Refreshments will be provided.
Sky View Golf Course will host the Big Blue Scramble on Saturday, June 25 beginning at 9:00 a.m. Please call the golf course regarding non-tournament play.
City of Alliance Utility customers will receive two (2) landfill passes in the mail that may be used at the Alliance Municipal Landfill until June 30, 2017. Normal household items will be accepted; however tires, appliances and construction or demolition debris will not qualify. The coupons are personalized and are not transferrable. The coupon must be presented to the landfill attendant at the time of use. The landfill is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Compost is now available at the Alliance Municipal Landfill for $10.00 per ton.
The Sallows Military Museum located at 1100 Niobrara Avenue will be hosting a book signing by Lieutenant Colonel George A. Larson, author of Great Plains Warriors of WWII on Tuesday, July 5 from noon until 2:00 p.m.

The annual Doggie Dash will take place on Saturday, June 25 at 10:30 a.m. starting at the Immanuel Lutheran Church School parking lot, proceeding east on Otoe Road to CR 58, then north ½ mile to The Animal Center. Please exercise caution while driving in this area during the event.
In accordance with city ordinances and state regulations, fireworks may be legally discharged in the City of Alliance from June 25 until July 2 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. and July 3 and 4 from 9:00 a.m. until 12 midnight on July 4. Please practice safety while discharging fireworks and remember, that the use, purchase or possession of fireworks by any person under 12 years of age is prohibited unless direct supervision is provided by a person 18 years of age or older.
The Alliance Public Library Book Club will review, “Issac’s Storm” by Erik Larson on Tuesday, June 28 at 1:00 p.m. in the back room of the library. Copies of the book are available at the circulation desk and a postage fee will apply.
