According to Teresa Sherfey, “the Nebraska State Patrol with the assistance of Kimball County Sheriff’s office investigated a one vehicle fatality result accident approximately two and one half miles north of Kimball US Highway 71. James Nelson 55 of Harrisburg was traveling northbound in a 2006 Chevrolet Malibu when he swerved to left and over corrected to right causing vehicle to roll several times in the east ditch where the vehicle came to rest on it’s top. Mr. Hanson was pronounced dead at the scene and the passenger was transported to hospital for injuries. Restraints were in use and the vehicle was totaled.”
