The annual Box Butte County Fairgrounds clean-up day will be held this Saturday, July 30beginning at 8 AM at the fairgrounds in Hemingford.
Needed help includes:
- Buckets, cleaning rags, elbow grease to clean the exhibit building and offices. Cleaning supplies will be provided.
- Rakes, shovels, brooms to clean the path along the south of the buildings. There are a lot of small sticks and dirt piles along the sidewalk. A wheel barrow will also be helpful.
- Pruning tools to trim the overhanging branches along the pathway.
- The big sliding door into the 4-H exhibit building from the breezeway needs some minor repairs.
- Lawnmowers and weedeaters.
Lunch will be provided by the 4-H Council. In past years, clean-up was completed by noon as many volunteers were on scene.
The fair begins with the Open Horse Show on July 31 and the 4-H Trap Shoot on August 1. The 4-H style show will be held August 4 followed by a bevy of activities August 6-14.
