In the early morning on Monday, August 29, 2016, Officers were called and advised of a sighting of a stolen vehicle. Officers located the vehicle in the Regency Trailer Court, on a trailer being pulled by a truck occupied by three individuals.
Officers conducted an investigation on scene and determined that the vehicle, on the trailer, was stolen. The truck was being driven by Darnell Hawk from Manderson, South Dakota. Mr. Hawk was placed under arrest for felony Theft by Receiving Stolen Property. The other passengers were released.
The truck, trailer and the stolen vehicle, a 2007 Hyundai Elantra, were towed to the City Impound Lot for further investigation. The Chadron Police Department received assistance from the Nebraska State Patrol and the Rapid City Police Department.
