The Park and Tree Board is seeking nominations for the Park Volunteer of the Year award from the public. Each year, the Park and Tree Board honor an individual from our community who has donated their time and talents to improving our Parks System. Nominations and information regarding the service provided may be sent to Cultural and Leisure Services Director Shana Brown.
All 2016 Tree Surgeon and Green House licenses will expire December 31. All tree surgeons, arborists, landscape gardeners and green house operators doing business in the City of Alliance are required to possess current licenses. Applications are available in the Community Development Department located at 324 Laramie. Proof of insurance is required.

Tree of Love gifts should be returned to Hardware Hanks today for Highland Park residents and Friday, December 16for Good Samaritan residents. Gifts for Hemingford Community Care Center residents should be taken to the Care Center by Thursday, December 15.
The Alliance Library Book Club will meet Tuesday, December 13 to discuss “The Home Place” by Wright Morris. At noon the group will hold a potluck in the community room, with the book discussion following at 1:00 p.m. Copies of the book are available at the circulation desk and a postage fee of $3.50 will be applied.
