Three local residents in the City of Alliance reported vehicle break-ins on Thursday night between 11 pm and 12 midnight in the middle of downtown Alliance. Two of the three residents reported items stolen from the inside of their trucks. They also relayed information to us that their vehicles were not locked.
According to Alliance Police Lt. Edward Tjaden, “With vandalisms, complacency is our enemy. We recommend keeping vehicles locked, and parking them in well-lit areas if possible. Residents should also remember to report suspicious people, vehicles, and occurrences to the police department; we can’t respond if we don’t know. Also, it helps if owners are able to regularly check on vehicles that aren’t driven regularly, in order to establish a timeline if something does happen.”
