The City of Alliance and the Alliance Police Department are pleased to announce the appointment of Officer Kirk Felker as the School Resource Officer for the Alliance Public Schools. Officer Felker will begin his duties January 7, 2016.
“The SRO program was made possible with grant funding from the Department of Justice as well as a local partnership between the City of Alliance, Alliance Public Schools and the Family Focus Coalition. The role of the School Resource Officer is to provide student safety as well as curtail any criminal activity that might be taking place at the school. The officer is also there to break down any communication barriers that may exist between students and the police” said Police Chief John Kiss. The common goal of all the entities involved in promoting the School Resource Officer program is to provide a safe learning environment for the students in the community.
