“The Miss Scotts Bluff County Fair Pageant will have an orientation and registration for young ladies ages 13-24 on Thursday, June 16 at 6:30 p.m. at the Elks Lodge at 1614 First Ave. in Scottsbluff. This orientation is helpful to those interested in competing in the pageant July 30 at the Gering High School.
The winner of the Scotts Bluff County Miss Division will be awarded a $1,000 scholarship, Miss Old West Balloon Festival will be awarded $750 and a runner-up will be awarded $500. The $500 Teresa Scanlan Scholarship will be awarded to someone in the Miss Division. To be considered for this scholarship, you must be a contestant in the Miss Division. Winning the title of Miss Scotts Bluff County or Miss Old West Balloon Fest entitles you to compete at Miss Nebraska.
In the Teen Division, the winners of the Miss Scotts Bluff County Teen and Miss Old West Balloon Festival Teen will both be awarded $350 to pay for the entry fees to the Miss Nebraska Outstanding Teen competition in June.
Other awards will be given for talent and interview in each division.
Presentation and discussion will take place concerning the following areas of competition: interview, resume, talent, evening gown and stage presence.
Young ladies from Scotts Bluff, Morrill, Banner, Box Butte, Kimball, Cheyenne, Dawes, and Sioux Counties are invited to compete.
