Joseph H. Moeller, 85, passed away May 11, 2016 at Box Butte General Hospital.
He was born March 27, 1931 at Hemingford, NE to Frank and Minnie (Halbur) Moeller.
On April 24, 1976 he was united in marriage to Elizabeth C. Tschacher in Hemingford.
A lifelong Box Butte County resident Joe farmed near Hemingford for many years and also worked for the City of Alliance until his retirement. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his wife, Betty, children, Ramona (Kenneth) Zulauf of Alliance, Myra (Douglas) Sibal of Morrill, NE, Tracy Navarro of Alliance, Johnna (Robert) Wood of Hemingford and Skye (Jay) Weeder of Gibbon, NE, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Peggy (Gene) Sheldon of Alliance, Jan (Richard) McLain of Keller, TX, Greg (Sharol) Moeller of Hemingford and Gary (Susan) Moeller of Alliance.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Bernard and Frank and two-step grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 18 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Bridget Catholic Church with Father John Kakkuzhiyil officiating. Burial will be in the Hemingford Cemetery. Wake service will be Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. at St. Bridget’s. Visitation will be Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00.m. at the Bates-Gould Funeral Home in Alliance and at the wake service.
